How to kill time during last few weeks of pregnancy

Last few weeks of pregnancy make you excited as well as anxious. It’s so difficult to kill those last days of pregnancy as lots of worries surround you about delivery, the baby’s health, responsibility, and many more. As free-mind gets a lots of thoughts, so try to indulge in some activity that makes you busy and happy. Don’t stress out, only few more days and your baby is in your arms, just little more patience.

Here are some tips that may help you pass those boring, tough, and last few days/weeks of pregnancy:

GO FOR A MASSAGE THERAPY: Pregnancy results in a lot of changes, weight gain, and stress to your body, massage at this point really helps. As massage helps to improve blood circulation which helps to ease your muscle stiffness, back pain and swollen feet. Massage is a great relaxing therapy which also uplifts your mood. Make sure to get it done from a trained specialist. Book an appointment in spa and pamper yourself, which is such an interesting way to pass time.

ENJOY YOUR REST TIME: Pregnancy puts lots of pressure on your body which also affects your night sleep. So it’s good to take a nap and rest whenever your body needs. Proper rest helps in putting you in a good mood and energy. Once your baby is in your arms, you’ll not get this much free time. This is your time, you can rest whenever you want, just enjoy this time. You can also try the walk, deep relaxation, or meditation to improve your sleep.

ENTERTAIN YOURSELF: Entertain yourself like watch a nice movie, watch Netflix shows, listen to music, make reels, go for a pregnancy photo shoot, get active on social media and so on, it helps to kill the boredom during last few days of pregnancy. Now you have plenty of time for yourself, so listen or watch whatever you like the most. You can watch some pregnancy-related shows, romantic shows, or laughter shows to stay happy during those last days.

GO FOR SHOPPING: Getting damn frustrated while sitting at home ? Go out with your spouse and do shopping. Make a list of things that you need in your hospital bag, do basic shopping for your baby, do shopping for yourself like comfortable wearing clothes and footwear, nursing bra, nursing pillow, etc. Getting new outfits for yourself will definitely make you feel better and happy. Shop all the essentials but don’t forget to prioritize yourself.

PACK UP YOUR HOSPITAL BAG: Check out your list and pack all the essentials in your bag that you need to take to the hospital like maternity clothes, nursing bra, pads, charger, toiletries, baby wrapping sheets, and clothes, comfortable flip-flops, your own pillow, etc. This little preparation will make you more comfortable during and after delivery. Make sure to double check your must-have items.

READ BOOKS/ARTICLES: If you are a book lover, then you’ll have a lot of options like “What No One Tells You: A Guide to Your Emotions from Pregnancy to Motherhood”, “Twelve Hours’ Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old: A Step-by-Step Plan for Baby Sleep Success”, “The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding” and many more. This way you can pass your time in the last few weeks of the third trimester by getting some good knowledge.

GO OUT AND SPEND SOME TIME IN NATURE: Nature is very powerful, it helps to relieve your physical as well as mental stress. So just go out and spend some time in nature, like go for a walk in a park, watch the sunrise and sunset, go for a short beach walk, etc. Even spending little time a day in nature, makes you feel better and helps you remain calm the whole day. So what you are waiting for, let’s just give it a try.

GO OUT FOR A DATE: Arrange a romantic evening with your partner, spend more time together, and open up your heart with each other, these are just the perfect things to enjoy before the arrival of your little one. After having a newborn in the house, things change for everyone, so you’ll not get time for these night outs and dinner plans. So enjoy this moment and spend quality time with your spouse.

COOK YOUR MEALS: You can experiment with different recipes for your lunch or dinner to kill time in those last few stressful days of pregnancy. You can also cook and freeze your favorite meals just before your due date. This will help you get your favorite food after delivery. You can make a list and schedule your meals. As eating your favorite food also helps with breastfeeding.

HANG UP WITH YOUR FRIENDS OR CLOSED ONES: Talk, laugh, and share with your friends/family as this will help you to feel better and remain calm. You may also have friends who are pregnant or have become mothers, so you can share your experience with them and talk about their experience as how they managed everything and all. You can also plan a weekend night outs or get-together with them.

FEEL AND TALK WITH YOUR BABY: As your baby is fully grown now, so he/she can listen to your voice. So it’s good to talk to your baby as it helps to start the bonding between you and your baby. Feel his/her movements and kicks, talk with your baby, and share your wishes for your child. These small conversations between you and your baby will make you feel better and happy.

LEARN NEW ACTIVITIES: If you have the time and are getting bored, then it’s high time for you to learn new things like knitting, painting, nail art, cooking, reading positive birth stories, practice new relaxation techniques, learn a new language, and many more. This can help you keep busy, creative as well as happy. Just do what you really want to do but didn’t get the time in the past. This is a great way to kill time during pregnancy.

There are lots of other things that you can do like planning for your baby’s room, making a scrapbook for your baby, making a list of baby names, getting a meni/pedi, going for a nice hair cut, cleaning, and sanitizing your house, planning out your baby shower, indulging in group activities with other pregnant women, learning to time contractions, etc. This time feels so long but it will end soon, and you are surely going to miss that time. Prioritize yourself and do things that make you happy and relaxed.
